We are still counting down to the little one's arrival so we are continuing to take advantage of the DINK time (see previous posts here and here) and checking out a few new places...
Lucha Loca
A laid back, buzzy new Mexican Taqueria at Duxton Hill which opened a few weeks ago serving up Mexican street food. Lots of choice including awesome tortilla chips, yummy tacos, quesadillas, ceviche (which I really want to go back and try once I can eat raw food again) etc. It's hard to find good Mexican so tasty food along with great service, a cool and buzzy atmosphere and (I am told) yummy margaritas - you really can't go wrong!
Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar
We stopped by here yesterday for breakfast and we're glad we did. An artisan bakery, the smell of beautiful hot bread greets you when you open the door and enter the airy space. It wasn't too busy when we were there so quick friendly service and a wide selection of brunch choices. Coffee not the best but they do serve up a mean yummy and buttery croissant. Also make sure you visit the Swiss butcher next door if you are looking for a great little deli and butcher shop.
Nam Nam Noodle Bar
I had almost given up my quest of finding some decent Vietnamese food here in Singapore but was pleasantly surprised when the Mr and I decided to check out newly opened Nam Nam Noodle Bar at Raffles City (an offshoot from the more upmarket Annam Vietnamese Restaurant) a few Friday nights ago. Yes you are in the middle of a shopping centre (so not ideal!) but their pho and banh mi certainly hit the spot. Great value and tasty. They are opening a second outlet in Wheelock Place this month.
