Megan Hess x Lace

Australian illustrator, Megan Hess , has just launched a gorgeous collection of limited edition lace inspired prints that can be purchased on her site. Super beautiful.  I am so tempted to get one for my walls at home.. LOVE.

Carla Zampatti turns 50

This year marks 50 years of the iconic Carla Zampatti fashion label.   After being denied a pay rise from her  £13 a week job designing blouses for a wholesale fashion house in 1964, she launched her own label a year later and the rest is fashion history.  The fashion house  celebrated yesterday with the 2015 Spring/Summer showcase in Sydney at the Opera House.   A beautiful, elegant and gorgeous collection.   Well played Ms Zampatti.

She does it again...

Sienna Miller (who was one of my favourite looks at the Golden Globes ) pulled out another winner at yesterday's Oscars wearing Oscar de la Renta. So pretty.

This dress.

One of my favourite looks from today's Golden Globes is Sienna Miller in Miu Miu. Love.

Summer wonder

I can't wait to get back home for our Christmas holidays in December - one week in Brisbane and one week up at the Sunny Coast.  This beautiful short film c elebrating Summer and 40 years of Country Road makes me miss home!

A draped scarf

I am loving belting a scarf over my dresses at the moment after seeing some recent outfit inspiration from the Burberry Fall 2014 collection.   For me it also hides the areas I am particularly self conscious about (my tum tum) and gives me a way to wear pretty scarves in sunny Singapore!

Giamba Debut

It's fashion week season and my Instagram feed has been full of gorgeous models, beautiful clothes and stylish fashion bloggers who are traipsing across New York, London and Milan. What caught my eye the other day were the shots from Giamba, a diffusion label by Giambattista Valli which made its debut in Milan. Feminine and girly with lace, florals, polka dots and ruffles - I thought it was a beautiful launch collection. See the full collection on style.com

to hong kong with love...

I have a few weeks off before I start the new job so we decided to take advantage of the time and sneak in a week to Hong Kong.  The Mr could work from his office there and it left me, my mama and the little lady to enjoy the city. I lived in HK for two years between 2008-2010 and definitely have a love affair with the city.  I have been back and forth for work since then but this was the first time in a long time that I have spent some 'off' time there.   It was so different seeing it and experiencing it with a kid in tow and I didn't get to do a lot of what we used to do.  But we did have a great week (despite the toddler sleep regression  which is still ongoing..sigh) revisiting our old haunts, catch ups and playdates with friends and discovering some cool new places.   Here are a few of my tips from our week: The Peak  - We were spoiled with beautiful, clear (but hot!) summery weather all week so we took advantage and went for...

Altuzarra x Target

The latest Target collaboration comes from Joseph Altuzarra, the 2014 CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year.   The collaboration comprises of a 50 piece capsule collection all priced under $100 and features some gorgeous pieces.   Good news for non-US residents is that an edited selection is available on net-a-porter . Below are my picks from the collection:

Fast Fashion

For those who know me well, you will know that I love fashion and being inspired by designers.  I follow certain brands and designers on instagram and regularly read high end fashion magazines and about the luxury brand industry.  There are some amazing and talented people out there creating beautiful things. However those that know me also know that I can be pretty tight with my money.  I think it stems from being so poor when I was growing up.  Weirdly though I can justify splurging on a holiday or a really awesome restaurant but in most cases I can't bring myself to spend more than $100 on a single item of clothing.  Maybe it's because it is money spent on an experience rather than a material item... In any case it does mean I love bargain fashion and since moving to Singapore I have discovered a bunch of local online stores that sell fast and cool (and cheap) fashion.   You will have to spend some time trawling through the sites so you really...

Tory Burch tells her story

I love reading about inspiring women in the business world. Last night, I read a couple of great articles from one of my favourite publications, Fast Company , about Tory Burch  and how she has built her brand and her business.  Read the articles here .  In just under 10 years she has built a global lifestyle brand which will pass $1bn in revenue this year.   It is reported that the secret to her success is that her business is such a personal reflection of who she is.  I don't own anything from Tory Burch (yet) but I have visited a couple of her stores.  It really does feel like you are visiting somebody's beautiful home when you step into one of her stores.    Another secret is being authentic and accessible.   As the article notes,   "Bur ch “is all about the ‘and’,” says creative director Honor Brodie, who oversees the Tory Blog and  social media . “She’s a tomboy and she’s feminine. She’s an entrepreneur and a phil...

Magali Pascal

I discovered Magali Pascal during our recent visit to  Bali . The brand is inspired by French elegance and combines beautiful fabrics and lace to create some absolutely luxe, ultra feminine and gorgeous pieces.   There are a couple of boutiques in Bali but the label is also available online  (they can ship internationally).

Rose Byrne x Oroton

Oroton , the classic luxury Australian fashion label has announced  Rose Byrne  as the new face of their label. I love her and her style and even remember watching her in the early days on Aussie soap, Echo Point  during my high school days.  Watch the behind the scenes video of the Oroton shoot here .

Inspired by: Louvelle Luxury Showerwear

Seraphine headwear I love reading and hearing about women doing daring and inspiring things in the business world and today is no different. One of my amazing friends has today launched her own business, Louvelle . Dahlia in Aqua Stripe Amelie in Botanical Simone is a busy mum and was bemoaning about ugly shower caps so she decided to do something about it. The result is gorgeous and chic showerwear inspired by the pages of fashion magazines.  Quick and easy to put on like any regular shower cap but just way prettier (I also think you can wear these out as a hair accessory on bad hair days!).  I can't wait to order mine and in fact was only just saying to the Mr on the weekend that I need a new cap and couldn't wait for Sim to launch so I could order one. Currently there are two designs, Amelie and Dahlia (that are offered in a range of prints).  Sim has also designed headbands  that will be great for exercise or your beauty routine. Currently only...

73 Questions and Preserve with Blake Lively

I know there are some haters out there but I like Blake Lively .  She just seems nice, cool and someone you could be friends with.  I don't know if it was scripted or rehearsed beforehand but I liked her even more after seeing the latest 73 Questions video from Vogue.  Watch it here . As a follow up from my recent  post , Blake has also recently launched her own lifestyle site,  Preserve .   Part blog and part online shop it will highlight and curate (everything seems 'curated' these days!) American artisans, stories and products.   I haven't had a chance to have a proper look yet so my verdict is still out.

Bali Love

We just got back from the most wonderful week away in Bali.  A full week of family time - swims, lazing around, reading, massages, eating lots of yummy food, walks and shopping.  You know you had a good holiday when the time away felt longer than it really was and you forget your work computer password on your first day back in the office! The Mr and I hadn't been to Bali since our honeymoon a few years ago and my how it has changed and built up.  But I do really love Seminyak as you get a real mix of the urban (good restaurants, bars and shopping) along with beach and pool time.  We are thinking it may become an annual holiday :) Accommodation: We stayed at the W in Seminyak in the Petitenget area.  Beautiful resort with beach access and super lovely staff, it was the perfect backdrop for our holiday.   The onsite restaurants, Fire and Starfish Bloo , are super yum and the Woobar is the perfect place for sunset drinks.  There are little golf...

Celebrity Lifestyle Blogs

Gwyneth started it with the launch of Goop in 2010 and I have noticed that increasingly celebrities are getting on the bandwagon and launching their own lifestyle websites.  I know there are a lot of critics out there but I personally enjoy browsing through them.  For pop culture fans like me, you can really get a feel for the person behind the celebrity and get lots of tips in the meantime or even if it is just for a stickybeak.   I give them credit for being entrepreneurial, finding an additional income stream and being in control of their own image and brand.  Aside from Goop, a couple of my other favourite celebrity sites are:  The Tig Recently launched by Meghan Markle (who plays Rachel Zane on one of my favourite shows, Suits ), The Tig is described as ' a hub for the discerning palate - those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion & beauty ".  Her posts seem very genuine and this page has become one of my frequent reads....
